Are you feeling a little overwhelmed with all the things AI flying around in the world and news at the moment? Perhaps you’ve head of a bunch of these products Microsoft and other vendors have announced that you can consider getting your hands on, investigating, and implementing with different scenarios in your organisations.

But here’s the thing… when it comes to building portfolio solutions in your organisation that embed AI capabilities, or when it comes to going as far as enabling your entire ecosystem by embedded AI of different forms in several parts of it, you’re probably going to need a little bit of a helping hand with the big question… “What can it do for me?”

In this post, we’ll look at a specific type of AI, and a tool Microsoft have for us to use to open our eyes to the possibilities and what can be achieved by using the AI Vision services specifically in Azure today!

Vision Studio

So Vision Studio… that’s the thing people! But what is it? Vision Studio is effectively a one stop shop that highlights the different things that we can achieve with Azure AI Vision! Azure AI Vision is effectively a collection of services that lets us give our solutions almost an eye at what is going on that we feed it, which it then has a range of models we can use to understand that information we fed it.

AI Vision services effectively give our applications the ability to have a look at the things we can. Whether that means object identification, reading and understanding text or detecting faces, AI Vision literally acts as an eye that lives in your application! 👁️

Vision Studio effectively lets us try out the different available services and models that exist in AI Vision.

Taking a look

So let’s take a look at what we can get a glimpse of in Vision Studio…

Straight away in the studio we can see the various services available and that we can begin to try out… Let’s click into one or two and see what we get to work with!

So now check out this example of a service we can use. Video Retrieval and Summary effectively lets us locate various points in a video by searching for them using a natural language description.

Within Vision Studio we can use our own video or an example provided by Microsoft to test out the capability.

Then if we like the model we can view the document and see the API information to start to bake it into our own apps and products!

Hopefully this gave you a good insight into an awesome tool that can get you started with using Azure AI Vision! Let me know in the comments some of your favourite services and tools in AI Vision! 🤖
